Septic Systems

Common Problems

A major problem of septic systems is reduced or terminated effluent flow from the soil absorption component. Over an extended period of time, some of the solids that are suspended in the effluent flow from the septic tank into the soil absorption component. The anaerobic bacteria digest the suspended solids in the absorption component and produce a by-product commonly referred to a "bio-mat". The bio-mat grows at the interface of the absorption component and the virgin soil surrounding the system. The bio-mat performs further filtering of the effluent through a bio-chemical process performed by the anaerobic bacteria. The by-product of anaerobic bacteria is a black slime that contributes to the soil clogging. The bio-mat can grow to a thickness that significantly reduces the flow rate of the absorption component and eventually leads to septic system failure.

Solution

EmTec Septic System Treatment helps keep systems free flowing by digesting grease and other compounds that may otherwise accumulate in drain lines, septic tanks, and drain fields.
