Oil Spill Bioremediation in Canal
EmTec™ FIELD STUDY: Rayong Province, Thailand

Problem Description

About 400 liters of fuel oil leaked from a textile factory and spilled into Huayyai Canal, Rayong Province in Thailand. The canal, situated in the center of the town, is connected to the sea.

Solution

After using oil absorbent boom, followed by pumping until only a thin oil film remained, and sorbent pads to absorb the surface oil, 880 liters of EmTec-HC were sprayed on the water surface.

Results

One week after treatment, no more oil was found in the canal.
