Pond Restoration
EmTec™ FIELD STUDY: Roi-Ed Province, Thailand

Problem Description

For years, the Roi-Et municipality had to skim thousands of dead fish in the Palanchai Pond due to an algal bloom phenomenon (Euthrophication). The algal bloom caused a fluctuation of the dissolved oxygen level (too high during the day, too low at night), a fluctuation of the pH level,
and a higher concentration of ammonia as well as other
toxic compounds. In addition, the pond water was not appealing as the thick, murky algae layer covered the
surface of the water and no fish could be seen.

Solution

EmTec-FM was applied for two days by spraying the product onto the 19,200 m2 pond surface.

Results

Within seven days, the variation of dissolved oxygen and pH level were reduced, and the pond's BOD was also significantly reduced. The appearance of the pond was greatly improved and healthy fish could be seen throughout the pond.

Customer Comments

The customer was very satisfied with the results and remains an on-going customer.
